Lifestyle Coaching is a 2-year Master’s degree program for graduates of the first-degree studies: psychology, dietetics, recreation and physical education. The program is aimed at providing education in three areas: proper diet, physical activity and emotional balance. Graduates will be able to expand their knowledge by getting acquainted with new areas of science which will enable them to take a holistic approach towards their customers and become better personal trainers, physiotherapists or dietitians.
The field of Lifestyle Coaching has received an accreditation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The accredited Approved Coaching Specific Training Hours in the International Coach Federation (ACSTH ICF) are part of the curriculum. This means that graduates of this field, apart from receiving a university diploma, will also obtain an ACSTH ICF certificate entitling them to work as a coach and they will be fully prepared to take an international accreditation exam for a professional ICF coach at ACC level (Associate Certified Coach International Coach Federation). The core of the curriculum has been developed according to international ICF standards and is consistent with the ethics of professional coaching.
What are the advantages of studying the Lifestyle Coaching?
In the United States as much as 70 percent of middle managers (almost 100 percent top managers) systematically use the services of personal coaches. In England, 80 percent of companies invest in coaching, in Poland – only 15 percent. According to the Forbes research, ROI in coaching is 6-fold, and according to PwC data even 7-fold. As it turns out, it is not only worth investing in coaching, but also in a career as a coach. According to the Future of Jobs report, digital and social competences will gain on importance in the future, and the latter will play a key role in the process of change that we will experience. Our career will not be based on one learned profession. We will have to improve our skills, expand education and change our profession, i.e. job, on a continuous basis. And, in connection with those changes, we will need coaches who will help us get to grips with any challenges posed by them.
The study program combines social, medical and health sciences, physical education as well as agricultural, forestry and veterinary sciences. During the studies, you will gain the ability to help clients in improving their life experiences in both personal and professional spheres. You will gain competences allowing you to operate in areas having a major influence on human well-being, such as diet, physical activity as well as mental, spiritual and emotional condition. You will get acquainted with the principles, tools and models of effective coaching, taking into account such aspects as cultural differences and increasing sensitivity to those differences, or the ability to build on a person’s individual potential to change and development. You will get acquainted with the multi-context approach to lifestyle, including the following aspects:

- relationships (interpersonal, intercultural);
- dreams and aspirations;
- organizing life;
- health and well-being.

JOB PROSPECTS AFTER GRADUATING LIFESTYLE COACHING STUDIES
After completing the Lifestyle Coaching studies, you will be prepared to undertake a job in your profession, as well as design and follow your own career path.
You will be authorized to practice the profession of a lifestyle coach, diet coach and personal adviser, which will open for you the possibility of obtaining additional specialist certificates (personal trainer).
You will have the necessary knowledge allowing you to run your own business or work in institutions and organizations dealing with preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle promotion, such as:

The field of Lifestyle Coaching has a practical profile. Graduate of the Faculty of Food Technology, associate professor in the Chair of Food Engineering and Organization of Production, Faculty of Food Science, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, completed Postgraduate Studies in Pedagogy, scientific internships in the Institute for Livestock Breeding and Food Examination, Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn, Institute of Basic Technique Problems, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Institute of Agrophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra and Ivan Franco State Pedagogical University in Drohobycz. Academic teacher with long-term experience, scientific supervisor of 86 MA and BA theses, scientific supervisor/assistant supervisor in three PhD conferment procedures. Author or co-author of over a hundred original research works, academic manuals, holder of 14 awards of HM Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences for didactic and organizational activity. Editor of a scientific journal from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education entitled: ‘Zeszyty Problemowe Postępów Nauk Rolniczych’. Head of a number of research projects.
Sylwia Gudej, MsC
Academic teacher and professionally active dietitian; employed in Department of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Paediatrics and the Paediatric Neurology Clinic in the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw, where she specializes in diet therapy of congenital metabolism defects, including ketogenic diet and its modifications; author and / or co-author of conference reports, scientific and popular science publications in the field of dietetics and human nutrition; manager and contractor of several scientific grants; laureate of the “Diamond Grant”, one of the most prestigious programs of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; actively participates in the implementation of programs related to dietary prophylaxis and dietotherapy of civilization diseases and in promoting the profession of a dietician in Poland; member of the Polish Dietetic Association.
Joanna Kalecińska, PhD
Graduate of the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw. She completed specializations in: sailing, tourism and recreation; in the course of studies, she obtained the following licences: instructor in swimming, gymnastics, light athletics, junior Volunteer Water Rescue Organization lifeguard, yacht and motorboat helmsman, PYA instructor. PhD in physical culture sciences conferred in 2008 for a thesis entitled: ‘Sports-practising families as an environment favouring recreational physical activity’. She is graduate of Postgraduate Studies in Education for Life in the Family (2001), Annual Postgraduate Management Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics (2010) as well as MBA in Higher Education Institution Management at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (2016). She completed numerous scientific internships, among others, at: Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education (Kowno, Lithuania) (2010 i 2012), Latvian Academy of Sport Education (Riga, Latvia) (2011), Universitad de Alcala (Madrid, Spain,) (2013), Université du Sud Toulon Var (France) (2014), Presov University. Faculty of Sport (Slovakia) (2015), Funchal University of Madera (Portugal) (2016), Uniwersity in Zadar (Croatia) (2018). Her professional experience is connected with work in the educational system at different stages of education (primary school, middle school, university), on different posts from a teacher of physical education to didactic posts (assistant, assistant professor, lecturer) as well as executive positions (Vice-Dean for Project Management; Vice-Dean for Didactics; Deputy and Director of the Tourist and Recreation Educational Programme; Head of Institute). She authored over 50 scientific publications. She is a member of the Polish Scientific Association for Animation of Recreation and Tourism in Poznań and Vice-President of the Association of Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw graduates.
Przemysław Płoskonka, PhD
Teacher by education and passion. Author of scientific studies and publications in the field of qualified tourism, outdoor and field education. A competition sportsman for 15 years, he reached the master class in swimming. Experienced organizer and manager of qualified sports events and adventure expeditions. He has numerous instruction, outdoor and tourist licences, including, among others, instructor in survival and line techniques, instructor in canoeing or swimming coach. A Volunteer Water Rescue Organization and a Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society tourism organizer. Long linked with the MICE branch, founder and long-term President of B.P. ESCAPE & EXPLORE CLUB. Co-founder and Vice-President of the Association Polish School of Survival. Outdoor ethics trainer responsible for the implementation of the Leave No Trace project in the territory of Poland. Bronze Cross of Merit for the development of education.
Prof. Teresa Skalska, PhD
Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Recreation of the Vistula School of Hospitality. President of the Association for Research, Development and Promotion of Tourism; author of numerous projects and research papers, among others, in the field of inbound tourism to Poland, the impact of tourism on regional economy, sharing economy, tourism for persons with disabilities, the impact of tourism on the economy of big cities; author of many publications, e.g. from the area of satellite accounts and tourism for persons with disabilities.
Prof. Jolanta Żyśko, PhD
Professor of the Vistula School of Hospitality in Warsaw. Since 1990, she has been involved in research and scientific works in the field of sports organisation and management; she completed an academic internship at the Institute of Sport & Leisure Policy of the University in Loughborough; she gave lectures at many foreign universities, including the Deutsche Sporthochschule in Cologne, the University of Jyväskylä and the University of Bayreuth; since 2009, member of the management board of the European Association for Sport Management; she is an expert of the European Commission for management of human resources in sports and of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the implementation of the National Framework of Qualifications in Higher Education; she is also an expert for education quality of the State Accreditation Committee; she also won several championships of Poland in yacht racing, class 470, and participated in the Goodwill Games of 1986; in 2017, she received a nomination for the Director of the Institute of Sports – PIB (the National Research Institute) for the position of the chair of the Council for Competences of the Sports Sector, and she joined the group of Honorary Ambassadors of Polish Congresses; in 2018, the Minister of Sports and Tourism appointed her the Vice Chairperson of the Council for Education and Development of the Physical Education Staff, and she received the MP POWER AWARD in the category of associations.
